Our story

About Buzzflo

Buzzflo exists because decisions made in chat rarely survive the week. Learn why we built chat, projects, CRM, field sales and invoicing into a single product.

Buzzflo started from a small, irritating observation: the most important sentence of the week is usually typed into a chat window and then forgotten.

A client moves a deadline in a group thread. A rep mentions that a pharmacy has stopped stocking a product. A manager approves an exception in a direct message. Every one of those is a decision, and almost none of them make it into a system where anyone can track them. They get rediscovered later, generally at the point where the cost of having missed them is highest.

The gap between talking and doing

Most companies respond by buying more tools. A messaging app, a project tracker, a CRM, a field reporting app, an invoicing package. Each one is reasonable on its own, and together they create the exact problem they were bought to solve: five places where the truth might be, none of which agree.

Worse, the tools do not share a spine. The conversation lives in one product, the task it produced lives in another, and the only link between them is somebody's memory.

What we built instead

Buzzflo is a single platform where a message can become a task in one action, and that task keeps a permanent link back to the conversation that produced it. The sender becomes the assignee. The project gains a member. The thread stays reachable from the task, and the task stays visible on the message.

Everything else follows from putting those things in one database. Logged hours become invoice lines. A won lead becomes a project's client. A field visit becomes a row in a coverage report. Nothing is exported, re-imported, or retyped, because nothing ever left.

One product, many industries

We took a deliberate decision early on: no forks. A pharmaceutical field force and a design agency run the same product.

What differs is how it is set up. Each business sees the parts of the product it actually uses, so nobody wades through features that will never apply to them, and the product uses their vocabulary throughout — the same objects appear as doctors and campaigns for one customer and as clients and projects for another. We configure both before a team starts, using a ready-made setup for their industry as the starting point.

The alternative — a separate build per industry — creates a maintenance burden that customers eventually pay for in slower fixes. We would rather do one thing well.

How we think about your data

Two principles, both enforced on the server rather than in the interface.

Encrypt what matters. Message content, financial amounts, contact details and other sensitive fields are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. A database dump does not yield plain text.

Scope by role, always. An organisation owner sees their organisation. A team lead sees their teams and any nested sub-teams beneath them. A member sees their own records. Financial visibility is tighter still: viewing a project's rollup is owner-only by default. These checks live in the API, so hiding a button is never the mechanism.

Built for the way teams actually work

A good deal of what is in Buzzflo exists because it failed in the real world first, and got fixed properly.

Time tracking is manual because an automatic timer counting wall-clock hours produced numbers nobody trusted. Selective wipe clears the app rather than the phone, because employees use their own devices. Background location reporting is honest about detecting a geofence crossing at the next scheduled wake rather than instantly, because pretending otherwise would be a lie the platform cannot keep.

We would rather state a limit clearly than let you discover it on a Friday afternoon.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What problem does Buzzflo set out to solve?

Important decisions get made in chat and then evaporate. Buzzflo was built so a message can become a tracked task in one action, keeping the decision and the work attached to each other.

Is Buzzflo built for one industry?

No. It is one product that adapts, rather than a separate version per industry. Each business gets the parts it uses and the vocabulary it uses, set up before the team starts — which is why an improvement reaches every customer at the same time.

Which platforms do you support?

A native Android application and a web client that runs in any modern browser. Both are maintained together, so a feature ships to each of them at the same time.
