Field service

Dispatch the job, and know what happened on site

Technicians work where the office cannot see. Buzzflo gives them one app for the day's jobs and gives the office attendance, job status and proof of work without a phone call for every update.

What usually hurts

The problems this setup exists to solve

If none of these sound familiar, this preset is probably not the right starting point — and we would rather tell you that than sell you a configuration you will fight.

  • Job status lives in the technician's head until they get back
  • No proof of when someone arrived or how long the work took
  • Photos of completed work end up in a personal camera roll
  • Company phones go missing and nobody can locate or clear them
  • Invoicing waits on someone retyping a paper job sheet
The flow

How a day actually runs

1

Assign the work

Jobs are tasks with an assignee, a deadline, a checklist and a customer attached — created directly or from a message in the dispatch chat.

2

Start the day

GPS check-in records when and where the technician started, with the route of stops for the day.

3

Do the job

Tick the checklist, attach photos, log the hours actually worked and record what was used.

4

Close it out

Status moves to done with a location stamp, watchers are notified, and the logged hours flow straight into the invoice.

Device management

The handsets, handled

This is the vertical where device management earns its keep. Handsets live in vans and on sites: the fleet console shows battery, storage and last-known location, geofences fire when a device enters or leaves a depot, and a lost phone can be located, rung or selectively wiped.

  • Battery, storage, network and last-known position per device
  • Locate, ring, sign out or refresh a device remotely
  • Geofences that alert on entry and exit
  • Selective wipe clears the app, never the personal phone

How device management works

Questions

Field service questions

Can technicians use their own phones?

Yes. On a personal device the app is installed normally and a selective wipe clears only the app's own data, never the phone. Full device enrolment, which does require a factory reset, is for company-issued handsets only.

Do jobs work without a connection?

Messages and data writes composed offline are queued and sent on reconnect. Reading anything not already cached needs a connection.

Can we see where everyone is right now?

A manager sees each team member's last known position, scoped by role. Background reporting runs on the operating system's schedule — roughly every fifteen minutes on Android — so it is a recent picture, not a live trace.

Does the time logged reach the invoice?

Yes. Hours are entered as explicit log entries against a job, and the invoice is built from those, so the line items trace back to real recorded work.
